Amruin History
The Amruin is an Eored in the Eohere of Rohan. It was first formed by Stromgald, who trained many promising
young riders. They were stationed in Alburg, near Edoras, and was part of the Eastfold Eored, commanded by the
Third Marshal of the Mark - at that time, Eomer. The Amruin, the Red Flame of the East, is one of the noblest
and most trusted of the Eastfold.
After Stromgald retired, leadership of the Amruin was passed on to Kelthang Talsul, and then to our elvish
ally, Gil-Goroth. After he too retired, Stryker Orcslayer took command of our forces, and then
Langor Hir-Loroch. Next was Turk Stromhoof, who was succeeded by Viking Redbeard and then Westar Dawson.
When Westar too retired, Trempk Starkast led our eored, and then Nom Eldaglin and then Meilikki Korath.
Ansaril Talrind was then our leader for quite some time before Ellsabiea Meleth stepped up to command. When
she too retired, Ansaril returned to lead us once more.
When Theomer the son of the King died from his wounds after battling uruk-hai who were destroying the home
of our people, the King's nephew, Eomer, became the Second Marshal of the Mark. Shortly thereafter Gondor
called for aide and our marshal was appointed Third Marshal and the Amruin was left behind to keep Edoras and
Rohan safe.
While Amruin was originally based in Alburg, the riders can no longer be found there. The few shopkeepers
and civilians who were who were bold enough to stay in Edoras after the King's departure often face attack
from the dark forces that roam Rohan, and indeed all of Arda. It was during Ansaril's first time as Third
Marshall that it became apparent that the residents of the city needed more protection than Amruin could give
them from their home in Alburg. And so the decision was made to move back to the city of the King's throne
and the golden hall of Meduseld to better protect their people.
